Fine Art Imaging Studio was founded in 2011 in Prague. Founders Flavia and Razvan have committed to become allies of visual artists in search of a printing solution designed to meet high quality standards and to faithfully render the beauty of their works.

Employing the best  in class technology, with respect of the

International Color Consortium standards, both of them help photographers, graphic artists and painters from around

the world to discover the qualities and benefits of giclée technique.

In 2013, Flavia and Razvan moved to Montreal, and opening a new Fine Art Imaging studio there was a natural step given the size of the North American community of artists.

In 2016, Flavia and Razvan returned to Romania, where the Fine Art Imaging story continues.

Each reproduction comes with its own Certificate of Authenticity, issued by the Brukenthal Museum and identified by a hologram with an unique serial number.

Fine Art Imaging and Brukenthal

The collaboration between Fine Art Imaging and the Brukenthal National Museum in Sibiu began in 2013, from the desire to publish the Romanian and European cultural values and to transform classical art into works accessible to the general public. Thus, through the My Gallery art collection,  those passionate now have the opportunity to buy reproductions with a very high degree of fidelity.

The process of executing giclees is extremely rigorously - each step of the process has its role and must be accomplished with scrupulousness, for the result to be truly worthy of the original.

All begins at the Brukenthal Museum, where artwork is

photographed in detail using high-resolution equipment to capture every trace of the brush, crossings and chromatic gamut. The angles are well studied, with respect to specific

conditions of controlled light, and nothing happens at random. A color proof is created on actual production media and evaluated for accuracy. The result is the raw high-resolution digital file.

Then at Fine Art Imaging studio, Flavia creates the perfect digital file, paying attention to colors, luminosity and execution details. Subsequently, giclée reproductions are printed on Hahnemühle fine art canvas or paper and treated with UV protection varnish, to guarantee a minimum 70 year lifetime.

Exhibition IN THE MIRROR

Starting October 2013 the Romanian Art Gallery of the Brukenthal National Museum, hosted for several monts the exhibition "In Mirror" which marked the beginning of the collaboration between the Museum and Fine Art Imaging. During this event, giclée replicas were displayed next to the original artwork by well-known painters, such as Nicolae Grigorescu, Stefan Luchian, Nicolae Tonitza and Misu Popp.

The success of the exhibition and the interest of the public (many visitors expressed with enthusiasm the surprise of the striking resemblance of giclées reproductions to the original paintings) consolidated  the partnership between Fine Art Imaging and the Brukenthal National Museum, and resulted into an increase of the  reproduction portfolio.
